Delaware Man charged with Rental Fraud

The Delaware Times is reporting that Arthur Bethae has been arrested for vacation rental fraud regarding a property he placed on HomeAway, took money and then was unable to provide the home for a family reunion.
From the short article, Arthur may not have been a true scam artist, but an owner who may have been short on money and over extended himself and then not been able to provide the home. This type of fraud is rare compared to the typical fraud we have reported, but no different, and growing. Because owners do this part time, the processes like holding the money in trust, paying taxes, providing contracts, making sure the unit is cleaned after the last rental and not double booking are all suspect
